Gillian McGuire becomes PhD candidate, April 2024

Temple University LKSOM requires two phases of becoming a full PhD candidate through a preliminary examination. In April of 2024, Gillian McGuire passed the Independent Research Project and then in November 2024 successfully passed the preliminary examination through thesis defense to their committee and cluster leader. Now, Gillian has achieved full PhD candidacy.

The Engel Lab moves from Temple University to the Coriell Institute for Medical Research, September 2023

The Engel Lab is excited to join the world renowned Coriell Institute for Medical Research where they will continue to investigate sex differences in melanoma.

Gillian McGuire is awarded the T32 training grant, July 2023

The Cancer Biology & Genetics Cluster of the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program is funded with an NIH pre-doctoral T32 training grant. In July of 2023, Gillian was awarded this training grant which will allow them specialized training towards their future as a physician scientist.
